What size storage unit do I need?

We offer a variety of storage unit sizes to suit anything that you need to store. Our experts will help you find the perfect size so that you don’t overpay for a unit, but you can get a good idea of how big of a unit you might need by checking out our unit size guide.

What is temperature controlled self storage, and why do I need it?

Temperature controlled self storage means that the facility’s temperature and humidity levels are regulated and set between an optimal range to protect your goods from significant temperature swings and humidity levels throughout the year. The majority of commonly stored goods can be damaged if not properly stored in a temperature controlled facility.

How long can I rent a unit?

At Citadel, we do not have a requirement for length of stay. That means you can stay as short or long as you want! However, contact one of our facility managers to learn about discounts for extended stays.

What is the difference between office hours and access hours?

Office hours refer to the hours that our manager is on-site and our office is open. Our access hours refer to when you can access your unit.

How long in advance can I reserve a storage unit?

You can reserve one of our units for one week prior to your move in date.

Do I need to have insurance?

Yes, you will be required to have insurance to rent a unit at one of our facilities. Many homeowner insurance plan WILL cover a storage unit, but you will need to talk to your provider to learn more about what they will and will not cover. If you do not have homeowner’s insurance, you can choose from several affordable self storage insurance plans right at our facility!

Can I rent a unit online?

Yes, you can rent or reserve a unit online through our facilities’ websites.

Can I pay my bills online?

Yes, once you become a customer, you will be given your own account that you can login to and pay on right from our website.

What do I need to bring with me to rent a storage unit?

You will need to bring a valid form of identification as well as a credit card.

Do I need to have my own lock?

No! When you rent a unit from us, we give you your very own ultra-secure disc lock that you can keep even after your move out.

What is the security like at the facility?

All of our facilities have state-of-the-art security systems that will give you peace of mind that your belongings are safe. We have high definition security cameras throughout the interiors and exteriors of our facilities that allow us to see who comes and goes. Each of our customers are given a unique PIN number that allows them to gain access to the building during non-office hours. The individual PINS are also tied directly to the customer’s unit, which is equipped with an individual unit alarm, so once the customer types in their PIN number their unit alarm is disabled. This ensures that nobody but you can get in to your own unit.

Do you provide hand carts and dollies at your facility?

Yes, we have several large hand carts and dollies at our facilities that can handle whatever you need to transport to your unit!

Can I buy boxes and moving supplies at the facility?

Yes, each facility offers a wide variety of moving supplies for purchase to ensure that you have everything you need to store your goods!

Do you provide a moving truck?

At select facilities we have a truck available for use by our customers. Contact one of our managers to find out more!
